I think it would be great to review how accessible restaurants are. We can rate everything from push buttons to parking, the ability to get around, how friendly, can you use the restroom independently, and can you get transportation there? Any other ideas?

Thanks for discussing such uncommon diseases.It really becomes a helpless situation when some near one is struck with such a problem and you have no clue as to what next.

The mission of the NSCIA-SWC is to assist people who have some degree of paralysis through injury or disease with a goal of returning them to a life of dignity, self-confidence and independence in a community that is all inclusive.

· Madison members can read bylaws and attend July 7th NSCIA-SCW conference call at 6 p.m. (more details will be sent out later.)

We discussed Pros/Cons
· Divvying up the work

o We can collaborate on grant writing

o We can collaborate and update people on stem cell research

o Look at having a mini “abilities expo” in the Madison-Milwaukee area in the future

Joint goals -

Partner up for mentoring - peer mentoring … discussed semi-formal, formal, informal …
establishing a peer advising…

- Work with UW campuses in both Madison and Milwaukee
- UW Hosp, Meriter, St Mary’s, Foerdert, ???
